A mischievous grin played upon Alessandra’s face as she made her way out of her current residence. She was lucky this time. Her latest victim had been a wealthy man. A very wealthy and old man and she used those traits to her benefit. From his death, she was able to occupy his current residence and as long as the neighbors remained aloof as to what was going on Alessandra would enjoy her moments living in her new house of luxury and away from suspicion. For the moment, she had decided to tell the surrounding neighbors that she was a distant relative to the old man and that she was sent to look after him while he dealt with his growing ailments. Pleased at the thought of such a satisfying picture, no one in the old neighborhood questioned it and they let her go about her business. Needless to say, Alessandra did help put the man out of his misery, but not in the way that they had expected.
She knew that she wouldn’t have long to stay in the old man’s house until the neighbors began to become suspicious again and got the local policemen snooping around, but until then she decided that she would make the most out of the experience, seeing as she hadn’t stayed in a place as nice as his in a long time. The sun was beginning to sink beneath the clouds and Alessandra knew that this would be the perfect time to go out for an evening hunt... Or at least map out her next victim for the future. She made her way out of the glamorous estate and into the crisp air of the late afternoon.
It was a rather cool afternoon for the summer, but Alessandra liked the bracing feeling of the wind against her skin. The chill almost made her feel alive again, but for the audience around her, she grasped her cardigan and pulled it snug against her body as if attempting to warm herself up. She hated that she had to hide who she was in order to blend in with the rest of society. Sometimes it made her wonder why she did it at all. She was the superior race after all, so why couldn’t she just reveal who she really was and reign terror upon all those that opposed her?...
A quiet chuckle escaped her lips and she let the thought escape her mind. Just thinking about it was enough to make her laugh.
After a brief stroll through the neighborhood she had arrived at Ashford Park and she sat at the bench nearest to her and just waited… she knew that someone would come by soon enough.
