if you'll be my star, i'll be your sky, you can hide underneath me and come out at night She really should be studying.
A soft sigh left Gracie's lips and she rolled her eyes skyward. She'd been trying to be proactive today...but it was just so lonely outside...warm...not too hot, not too cold...the breeze was blissful...and the clouds where wispy little things....letting in just enough sunlight....
For the most part, the courtyard was quiet...she was sprawled out on a plaid blanket, legs crossed at the ankles her shoes tossed lazily away from the blanket, nearly hidden in the green grass as well as the socks-both pair tucked away into the odd keds.
The young woman sighed-propping her chin up in her palm-glancing down at the sketchpad in front of her. The design was rather intricate, her name curled around vines, flowers and leaves several other doodles littered across the page as well as a few lines of a song she vaguely remembered. It wasn't really a sketchpad as much as it was her own sort of diary....though she not only wrote in it....what ever inspired her, whatever she thought needed to be written down or drawn...she would do so. It was a large book-leather bound and worn down....this one was a year old. Soon she'd have to buy another.
Another sigh escaped her lips, brows furrowed as she glanced at the untouched text book beside her. She didn't hate english class....she really didn't it as just that it seemed such a waste of a day....
Her free hand twirled a curl tight around her finger and remained there as she once again regarded the picture in front of her. The strand of hair was unravelled and she picked up her pencil and set about, adding shading to the letter's of her name as she once again...set studying aside.

“Get over here boy!” The portly police officer called after the thief, as he attempted to chase him up the fire escape. There were really no words to describe the sight of him trying to keep up with the young male that he was obviously after. It was just funny. The boy was about five inches taller than him, clearly in shape, and he moved along the steps of the fire escape with ease. He dexterity upon the flight of stairs made it almost seem as if he’d done it a thousand times before… and he had, but the police officer didn’t know that. And that was just like Lee. He was always out looking for trouble, stirring up chaos, and seeking thrills. That was his life, and at the moment he was thoroughly enjoying it.
He swung across a dangling pipeline back onto the ground beneath him and the police officer just stood where he was, petrified and in a state of awe. He was puzzled as to how the boy could accomplish such a feat without ending up a flattened pancake on the surface of the pavement. He watched as the young man landed on his feet and scurried off around the corner with an expert’s agility. There was no catching him now. The police officer was sure of it.
A satisfied smile played across the boy’s face while he caught his breath around the corner. It was just the way he had wanted to start the beginning of his day. An arduous police chase normally did the trick, but he was sure that he’d have to find something else to do tomorrow, for fear of becoming predictable. After he had collected himself enough for the time being, he continued walking down the street alley with no aim in sight. About fifteen minutes had passed and Lee was bored again. The excitement of the chase had died down, and now he needed to go out and find some more. Just as this thought crossed his mind he walked past the local college’s campus. He was near the courtyard and couldn’t help but notice the attractive little brunette sitting by herself on the grass. She looked so peaceful and absorbed in what she was doing… he had to interrupt her.
With three swift movements he hoisted himself over the courtyard fence and started making his way over to her. As he approached nearer and nearer to the place that he was sitting, he started to lose whatever words he had sorted out to speak. Soon the tips of his shoes were against the edge of her blanket and he was still at a loss for words. Was she having this effect on him? He tried to put the question to the back of his mind before taking a seat on the ground beside her.
“So… hey.” He said while a smile, not really sure why he had decided to walk over now that he was there. “Whatcha doin?”

if you'll be my star, i'll be your sky, you can hide underneath me and come out at night She hadn't even sensed his approach-the voice made her jump-hand automatically flipping her sketch journal closed. Gracie wasn't one to share her journal, it was too personal...too truthful to her thoughts and emotions and ideas. She tilted her head back to look up at the speaker, confusion clouding normally bright eyes. She didn't know the boy sitting before her, though then again that wasn't saying much. She still hardly knew her professors' names..... "Hi..." She replied uncertaintly, siting up slightly, tucking a curl behind her ear and then... smiling lightly. "I'm.....well I'm supposed to be studying." her nose crinkled ever so slightly at the word and she looked back up at him questioningly. Did she know him, was he is in one of her classes? She couldn't match his face up with anyone.

He chuckled slightly as she leaped right in front of him. Although he knew that he probably should have been apologizing for frightening her or something, he found it cute and just smiled back at her. The notebook in her hands was the least of his interests, and so he didn’t even notice it as she abruptly pressed it closed upon seeing him. Instead, he looked up at her, listening as she spoke.
“Ah, studying, huh?...” Lee asked as he casually leaned back against her blanket. “Well, that can’t be any fun. I was just about to go to the park. Would you want to join me?” he asked with a friendly smirk. There was just something about him that made a girl want to trust him, even if they hadn’t known him for long, and if any of them had to guess what it was that possessed them to feel that way, they would all most likely agree that it had to do with his smile. Lee was charming like that, and nearly always knew how to play his cards.
To him, all of this was just a game, so he really didn’t feel any pressure when asking her out. Out of everything that could’ve happened he knew that the worst would only be for her to say no, so what did he have to lose? He looked up at the sky as he awaited her answer, feeling completely content about just living in the moment. Wondering what was about to happen next.

"I...ah..." Gracie bit her lower lip, uncertainty flashing in her eyes, she was easy to read always had been more of an open book then the journal she'd hastily closed. It was obvious she needed an escape from the text books she'd hardly opened. Whether it was procrastination creeping up on her or the fact she simply couldn't stand wasting a lovely day with textbooks was hard to tell but she wasn't sure......why he would ask her. Gracie cheeks colored a light red-not embarassed of his attentions but more that she suddenly felt bad-was he in one of her classes? The question floated around in her head, she'd feel just awful if he had been and she simply hadn't noticed.... Better safe then sorry, he looked nice, and besides she'd feel mean to turn down such a nice offer. She nodded, a bright smile lifting her features as she made her choice and she straightened-sitting up with one smooth movement. "All right sure, I haven't even seen the park here yet." She said, glancing down at her things and grabbing her books-carefully putting them back inside her totebag.
