BEST MEMORY "When I got accepted to the University. I mean, I had good enough grades to get into most respectable colleges. Not Harvard or Stanford or anything like that, but I was pretty confident in getting accepted to Applewood. But still, it was the best feeling I've ever had. New York is so far away from California, so far away from my dad, and I could finally be free of him."
WORST MEMORY "When I found out Tyson was dead. He was my everything, the only person I felt I could really trust. And then he was just... gone. I never even got to say goodbye. I could handle my father's abuse, and then when I got attacked, that was bad, but losing Tyson was the worst. I didn't have anyone else to talk to."
OVERALL PERSONALITY
[li] Sweet: pleasing or agreeable; kind or gracious; amiable. Cassie is a very kind and loving person, despite the environment she grew up in. She's nice to almost everyone, always trying to help other people out or giving words to help lift someone's spirits. People tend to take a liking to Cassie because she's just nice, through and through, even to strangers.
[/li][li] Innocent: free from moral wrong; without sin; pure. Though Cassie would not be considered pure, as she isn't a virgin, and she has seen much in her young life, she still has an innocent air about her. She likes to try to think the best of people, even if they've repeatedly proven their mean nature. Not to be confused with ignorance, because she knows how cruel the world can be, but often times she seems like a scared little child.
[/li][li] Confused: to be perplexed or bewildered. Cassie doesn't know what life is all about, yet. She's still trying to find her place and understand how everything is supposed to work. Her life has been one big contradiction. Her home life is terrible, but she can still find good things to celebrate and be happy about, and she isn't quite sure how that's possible. How can some people be cruel and mean, and others amazingly kind?
[/li][li] Curious: eager to learn or know; inquisitive. Cassie loves to learn, both book knowledge and just the knowledge of the world. She's interested in learning how people work, and the reasons behind everything. She loves to go exploring, just to have fun and experience new things, as long as she has someone to share in her enthusiasm.
[/li][li] Complaisant: inclined or disposed to please; obliging; agreeable or gracious; compliant. If asked, Cassie will give her opinion about something, but she never forces it on someone else or argues about anything. She tries very hard to make everyone else happy, and to not draw negative attention to herself. If someone asks her to do something, she rarely says no, because she wasn't raised in a home where that was tolerated, and old habits die hard. Along with her sweet nature, her complaisance tends to make people like her, because she never argues or causes problems. The problem is, she also doesn't stand up for herself, and sometimes not saying no can be a bad thing.
[/li][li] Bubbly: lively; effervescent; enthusiastic. Not in public, and certainly not with someone she doesn't know very well, but once she feels comfortable around someone she has a very bubbly personality. She gets enthusiastic about things, and enjoys just having fun and doing things for no apparent reason.
[/li][li] Closed-Off: having or forming a boundary or barrier Cassie keeps her feelings to herself. She doesn't let people in, because too many people have let her down. She's always been closed-off, only letting one or two people in, but after Tyson died she didn't have anyone to talk to anymore. And then, after she was attacked, she had a new secret to keep, which made everything worse.[/li][/ul]

OVERALL HISTORYKristen James and Paul Holloway met in a bar. He bought her a drink, they got to talking, then he asked her out. After a year of dating, he asked her to marry him, and six months later they were walking down the aisle. They lived on the Holloway Ranch with Paul's mother, who died not long after the wedding, leaving the ranch to her eldest son. Nine months later baby Zachary was born, and almost exactly a year after that Kristen gave birth to Cassidy. Soon after Kristen got pregnant again, and then Juniper was born.
From then on things seemed to go down hill. Kristen's father died of a heart attack, then Paul's little sister was diagnosed with cancer and not long after, his youngest brother died in a car accident. Paul started getting angrier and angrier, until he hit Kristen. At first it was only that one act of violence, but over the next couple months he got worse. He had grown up in an abusive home, and it seemed the behavior had rubbed off on him. It wasn't long before he turned the abuse on the children.
Cassidy grew up trying to go unnoticed. When she was very young she would get hurt every time she cried, so she learned to stay quiet and out of his way. Her mother took care of her kids, showed them love, but she never stood up to Paul, never tried to stop the abuse. When she could walk, Cassie would spend as much time as she could around the horses. Sometimes she'd cry herself to sleep in the barn, using one of the dogs as a pillow and huddled among the cats. She was very close with her siblings, as well. It was the three of them against the world.
She became friends with one of the farm hand's sons, Tyson. It was weird for her, to be having fun with him, when her life had always been so stressful. She hid the truth from him, though, for many years, until she was eleven. By that time she trusted him completely, and she couldn't help but cry into his shoulder. From then on they were even closer, but still just friends. Just very good, best friends. He told her when he got a girl pregnant, and for once she was there for him instead of the other way around. She spent more time with Tyson than her siblings, and though her and Juniper stayed close, Zachary started pulling away.
When Tyson asked her out, Cassidy was shocked. She was fifteen, and had thought about them becoming more than friends, but it was just a thought, and she didn't think he thought about it at all. But she said yes, and it turned out to be the right choice. They dated through high school, until the summer after senior year. They were both accepted to the University of Applewood, and Cassie was excited to finally be getting away her father. New York was the farthest she could get from California. But Tyson was attacked and killed only days before they were supposed to leave.
Cassidy was devastated, but she held it in. There was no one to turn to. Instead, she went to Applewood, as planned. Only a couple months into her Freshman year she was attacked by a werewolf. She survived the attack, barely, and spent a few weeks in the hospital. That first full moon she discovered she was no longer human, but a monster that she had always believed was a legend. She took the rest of the year off from school, trying to get control of her beast. It wasn't as traumatizing an event as she expected, but in the end it was just one more bad thing to happen in her life.
It's been two years since the attack, and Cassie is now a sophomore at the college. [/ul]
